An Immigration Lawyer’s Tip

Make sure your passport is valid for your trip to Ireland. Visa and passport rules depend on your nationality and travel route. Check that your passport is valid through at least November 2027. If you connect through Europe, check that it was issued after July 2017. If you need a passport, apply soon. Give yourself plenty of time to get to Ireland and back home. Let’s avoid any last-minute immigration drama. Any questions, you know who to ask.

As you asked

Everything we know so far

We’ll keep this and yourself updated as plans come together.

When should I arrive and leave?

Celebrations begin with a welcome party on the evening of Monday, 26 July. The wedding is Tuesday, 27 July. A relaxed BBQ on Wednesday, 28 July, wraps up around 5pm.

Plan to arrive Monday afternoon. Wednesday is super chill, so leave whenever suits you.

Do I have to attend all three days?

Not at all! We’d love to see you for everything, but we know travel and schedules vary. Tuesday is the main event; Monday’s welcome party and Wednesday’s BBQ are bonus time together.

Where should I stay? Do I need to book a hotel?

Please hold off on booking. We’ve reserved all of Ashley Park House, including its coach houses, cottages, and lodges, with room for more than 100 guests.

We’ll coordinate room assignments, arrange extra accommodation nearby where needed, and be in touch.

How do I get there from Dublin?

We’re planning shuttle buses from Dublin Airport and central Dublin to Ashley Park House, and back again afterwards. It’s about a two-hour drive. Routes and schedules will follow once confirmed.

Do I need to rent a car?

Probably not if you’re staying at the venue, though transport plans are still being finalized. If you’re exploring Ireland before or after the wedding, a car is the easiest way to do it. Remember, Ireland drives on the left.

Do I need a visa?

It depends on your nationality. Read the immigration lawyer’s tip, and if you might need a visa, ask us early. Visas take time.

What should I wear?

Our theme is undecided right now! It’s a wedding, so at a minimum expect formalwear. We’ll share more specific guidance on attire closer to the date.

What’s the weather like in July?

Changeable, and recent summers have run warm. Expect daytime highs anywhere from about 18 to 28°C (mid-60s to low 80s °F), cooler evenings, and rain at any point. Air conditioning is rare in Ireland, but is available at the venue. Still, layers are a must: something light for warm afternoons, a jacket for the evening, and something waterproof.

Are children invited?

Maybe! We know that’s an unhelpful answer right now. We’re still finalizing arrangements for under 18s and will let guests know directly.

What time is the ceremony?

We’re planning an afternoon ceremony on Tuesday, 27 July. The exact time and full schedule will follow. Likely after 3pm local time.

Can I bring someone?

Your invitation will name everyone it includes.

Can you accommodate dietary requirements?

We’ll absolutely collect dietary requirements with the formal RSVP and coordinate with the venue.
